Uri – Mountainous Canton
Uri, canton between the St. Gotthard Pass and Lake Lucerne is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. The canton of Uri’s territory covers the valley of the Reuss in Central Switzerland. More than 20% of the canton is occupied with forests and glaciers.
Though Uri is less famous place, it is extreme destination for hikers, boundary pushers & thrill-seekers. There are many exciting places such as charming villages, mountain passes, beautiful Swiss Alps lakes, green valleys, and mountain peaks. Here we are going to recommend some must-visit places you will never regret and will love it no doubt.

- Andermatt (Famous for skiing)
- Oberalp Pass (On the top, can find restaurants, a train station, a huge parking lot & a hotel.)
- Furka Pass (On the top, must visit to the famous iconic Belvedere Hotel and the Rhone glacier)
- Altdorf (Capital & Biggest town of the canton)
- Sisikon (Tiny village squeezed between a lake & mountains)
- Rütli (Historic place)
- Schöllenen Gorge (a canyon, between the towns of Göschenen to the north and Andermatt formed by the river Reuss)
- Arnisee (Charming little lake)
- Klausenpass (The lowest mountain pass on my list in Uri canton)
